Terms of service
The terms on which this website is provided, and what using it does and does not create.

What this website is
California Expungement Law is a private California law firm's website. We are a private law firm. We are not a government agency, a court, or a legal aid or nonprofit organization, and we are not affiliated with any of them.
This is not legal advice
This website is an advertisement for legal services. Everything on this site is general information about California record-relief law, not legal advice about your case. Reading this site, using the eligibility check, or sending us information does not create an attorney-client relationship. No attorney-client relationship exists until you and the firm sign a written fee agreement. California law changes; each page shows the date its legal content was last reviewed.
When you become a client
Reading this site, using the eligibility check, creating an account or sending us a message does not make you a client. An attorney-client relationship begins only when you and the firm have both signed a written fee agreement. Until then, please do not send us confidential documents or a detailed written account of your case.
About the eligibility check
This free check gives you a preliminary screening result only. It is not legal advice and it is not a promise about your case. Only an attorney who reviews your actual court and Department of Justice records can tell you what relief you qualify for. Using this check does not make you our client.
It applies the rules that decide most California cases. It cannot see your actual court record, it does not know facts you were not asked about, and unusual circumstances change answers. A result is a starting point, not a decision.
No guarantee of results
No attorney can guarantee the outcome of any case. Courts decide these petitions, and prior results do not predict or guarantee a similar outcome in your matter. What we can promise is that we will tell you honestly where you stand before you pay anything.
Accuracy and change
California record-relief law changes regularly, and parts of it have changed substantially in the last three years. Every page here shows when its legal content was last checked against primary sources. If you are reading long after that date, confirm before relying on it.
Your use of the site
- Do not use it to break the law or to interfere with anyone else's use of it.
- Do not attempt to access accounts, records or data that are not yours.
- Do not scrape, mirror or republish the content as your own.
Links to other sites
We link to courts, the Department of Justice, Public Defender offices and other official sources because they are useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say.
Limits
The website itself is provided as it is. Nothing in these terms limits any obligation the firm owes a client under California law or the Rules of Professional Conduct, and nothing here is intended to disclaim a duty that cannot be disclaimed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by California law. Client fee disputes may be subject to the State Bar's fee arbitration programme, and your fee agreement explains that.
Legal information on this page was last checked against primary sources in October 2026. California law changes; if you are reading this long after that date, confirm before you rely on it.
